Driscoll’s 28th Annual Pediatric Conference will be virtual

CORPUS CHRISTI – The 28th annual Pediatric Conference, sponsored by Driscoll Health System, will be hosted virtually this year as Webex lectures because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event will be held July 16-17. Driscoll Children’s Hospital physicians and others will be among the event speakers. The conference is open to physicians providing pediatric care, resident physicians, registered nurses, advanced practice professionals, medical students and public health professionals. The emphasis will be on providing the latest information in pediatric subspecialties. 

This conference offers a maximum of 12 hours in AMA PRA Category 1 Credit ™ which includes four hours of education in medical ethics.

The conference will focus on the many challenges involved in the clinical care of children. Conference topics were selected based on educational needs determined from identified professional practice gaps, derived from conference evaluations in previous years.

The keynote conference speaker will be Lee S. Beers, MD, FAAP, President of the American Academy of Pediatrics, who will give an AAP update on the child health policy agenda for 2021 and beyond.

Alumni speaker will be Jo-Ann Nesiama, MD, MS, FAAP, Class of 2001, Associate Director of the Pediatric Emergency Fellowship Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.
