From timeless heroes like Ariel, Moana and Snow White and beloved animal companions like Sebastian and Mushu to iconic villains like Maleficent, Disney characters continue to capture the hearts of millions around the world.

Through Disney On Ice, an acclaimed series of touring ice shows that bring beloved Disney stories and characters to life through figure skating, Disney has shared its magic with communities across the globe. 

Showcasing worldclass figure skaters, the live performances create an immersive experience for audiences of all ages, bringing together a mix of new and classic Disney characters.

Ahead of the opening night of Disney On Ice’s Jump In! tour at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, South Texas Health System (STHS) Children’s is partnering with Feld Entertainment to bring Disney magic to pediatric patients.

On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 1:45 to 3:15 p.m., patients and their families will enjoy a special meet-and-greet with some of Disney’s most beloved characters.

“Special activities like this Disney On Ice visit make a meaningful difference for hospitalized children by supporting their physical and emotional well-being,” says Cat Domian, MSN, RN, Chief Nursing Officer, STHS Children’s.“Through our Child Life Program, we’re committed to delivering compassionate care that goes beyond medical treatment, and we’re thankful for partners like Disney On Ice who help our patients feel comforted and less overwhelmed during their hospital stay.”

During the event, Disney On Ice skaters and some beloved Disney characters will gather in the STHS Children’sthird-floor pediatric playroom to visit with patients. The characters will also make bedside visits to brighten the day of patients unable to attend because of medical restrictions.

As part of their magical Disney experience, patients will also receive Disneythemed items

“Spending the afternoon with STHS Children’s patients and their families, Disney On Ice’s beloved characters will spark joy, lift spirits and help create unforgettable memories,” says Tom Castañeda, System Director of Marketing and Public Relations, STHS. “We’re thrilled to welcome these iconic characters and share a little Disney magic with the children and families in our community who need it most.”
