Nurses are widely considered the backbone of any hospital; they represent the largest group of healthcare professionals and deliver 24/7 direct bedside care.

Responsible for monitoring patient conditions, administering treatments, providing emotional support and serving as strong patient advocates, nurses work collectively to ensure high quality, compassionate care and maintain the highest standards of patient safety.

“Nurses bridge the gap between doctors and patients; they bring knowledge, compassion and an unwavering presence to every moment of care. From birth through end of life, they provide essential monitoring, advocacy, medication administration and emotional support that uplift patients and families,” says Adam Copher, DNP, RN, CMSRN, Chief Nursing Officer for South Texas Health System (STHS) McAllen. “They are the heartbeat of healing, ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes by combining exceptional clinical expertise with deep humanity, influencing nearly every aspect of healthcare delivery.”
