Everyone deals with difficult situations from time to time. While going through them, it’s hard to see the silver lining. But once overcome, it becomes clear that it contributed to our growth and emotional resilience. Emotional resilience is the ability to respond to stressful or unexpected situations and crises with a calm, clear mind. It is like a muscle that can be worked on and can help protect us from developing various mental conditions, such as depression and anxiety.
As part of its commitment to helping break the stigma surrounding mental health issues and bring education to communities most impacted by mental health issues, South Texas Health System Behavioral will host a special online seminar on building emotional resilience.
Led by a mental health expert with STHS Behavioral, the interactive discussion will cover how to embrace optimism by focusing on solutions instead of problems and finding healthy ways to cope with stress.
