The RGV Hispanic Chamber  of Commerce will be hosting their annual “South Texas Senior Summit” on Thursday, August 26th at the Bert Ogden Arena from 8am to 3 pm. The Senior community will be getting free health screenings and information on free services that the cities, counties, state, and federal government offer.

Free screenings such as:  Blood pressure, vein, strength tests, stroke care, vision, eye exams, etc. are just some of the health screenings that will be offered.  Free information on Services provided to the seniors by the Veterans Adm, the Food Bank, Area Agency on Aging, Senior Medicare Patrol, Foster Grandparents, Senior Abuse, etc. will also be present.  The seniors will also enjoy games, dancing, door prizes and snacks & lunch.  

Because of the COVID situation, the attendance will be limited to only 550 seniors and face masks will be required.  There is still room for vendors who have a service or product that the senior community can use.  For more information on the Senior Summit call the RGVHCC office aat 928-0060.  Sponsoring the event thus far are:  HEB, Bert Ogden Arena, United Health Care, Allwell and Superior.
