HARINGEN, Texas – Ironically, none have been ignored in our society as much as those who’ve fought the hardest to ensure freedom is passed from generation to generation, our veterans. Taking care of those who’ve served our nation in uniform is a top priority. This is why this week, Congresswoman Flores visited the Harlingen Medical Center and met with their executive leadership team and staff. She had the opportunity to discuss national, regional, and local challenges the VA system is facing, along with possible solutions. Among these challenges, is the ongoing shortage of medical staff and the impact this has on wait times and care. They assured Flores the VA system, as a whole, is working on closing this gap, as doing so will be critical in ensuring veteran care now and into the future.

“Given the passage of the ‘PACT Act‘, it is in our vested interest to make sure the VA is operating efficiently in delivering the care our veterans need and deserve. This legislation, which I strongly supported and voted ‘Yes’ on, will ensure veterans exposed to toxic hazards during their military service will be eligible to receive medical care and benefits,” said Rep, Flores.
