MISSION, Texas – Rio Grande Regional Hospital, an HCA Healthcare Affiliated Hospital, is pleased to announce the groundbreaking of its fourth 24/7 Emergency Room.

Construction crews are out in full swing, preparing the area for the new site of Rio Grande Regional Hospital’s ER 24/7 in Mission.

An official groundbreaking ceremony was held at the site on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.

“We are committed to extending our emergency services into areas where we already have many patients who trust us with their health care needs,” said Cris Rivera, Chief Executive Officer of Rio Grande Regional Hospital (RGRH). “Our goal is to provide emergency care in our local communities where patients will receive the same high quality and compassionate care RGRH has provided for nearly 40 years.”

Rio Grande Regional Hospital currently has three freestanding emergency rooms; ER 24/7 McAllen is in the McAllen/Mission area on Taylor Road, ER 24/7 Edinburg is on West University Drive, and ER 24/7 San Juan is on East Expressway 83.

The Rio Grande Regional Hospital team anticipates opening the Mission facility in the summer of 2023.

Rio Grande Regional Hospital’s ER 24/7 Mission location will be staffed with emergency room trained and licensed physicians, nurses, and ancillary support services personnel. This dedicated team of healthcare professionals will be on duty daily to ensure your loved ones receive excellent, compassionate care.
